Antique Paintings
Buying & Appraisal

We examine the old paintings decorating your walls or taking up space in your collection based on their artist, period, and artistic technique, offering their true value and purchasing them for cash.

Which Artworks Do We Buy?

For a painting to carry antique qualities or be valuable, the signature, technique, and condition are of great importance. The main artworks we purchase for our collection are:

• Signed oil paintings by famous or period Turkish and foreign painters.
• Ottoman era calligraphy works, firmans, hilye-i sharifs, and miniatures.
• Antique watercolors, charcoal, pastel, and engraving works.
• Old portraits and landscape paintings with original wooden or gold leaf frames.

How is a Painting Appraised?

The value of paintings is not measured solely by their age. The recognition of the artist, the period the work belongs to, the brush technique used, and the condition of the canvas or paper (tears, paint shedding, etc.) are crucial for determining authenticity. The expert team at Eskici Istanbul examines your artworks on-site and provides a transparent pricing worthy of their artistic identity.

"A painting is not just a reflection of colors on a canvas, but a unique legacy that carries the spirit of the era it belongs to."
